Responses for Pediatric Feet

Jon Disbro

Re: Pediatric Feet

Hello List,

Thank you for the insightful responses and recommendations for the client
who is a healthy two-year old with a transtibial amputation.

Five recommendations were for the Trulife Child’s Play foot. It was noted
that the Child’s Play looks good and has a low build height.

Three recommendatinos for the Ottobock Dynamic 1K10

Two recommendations for the OWW P-pod Impulse

Two recommendations for TRS Little Feet

One recommendation for each of the following:
Trulife Child’s Play Energy
Freedom Defender
College Park Truper

One recommendation against OWW because their pediatric foot was too stiff
for kids.

Vendors responded recommending their own products including:
Allard – Kiddie Guard and Kiddie Rocker
Streifeneder – SACH foot with a variety of pediatric adaptors
Kingsley – Hosmer Fillauer Mighty Mite

Several people noted that dynamic response feet with a carbon keel don’t
offer a great advantage for pediatrics because the shorter lever arm of the
keel and low patient weight limits the energy return.

One person noted that many pediatric feet are similar in that they are
rigid through the keel but have flexibility in the toes only, like SACH
feet.
Two people replied just to say hi.
