Looking for an experienced prosthetist to open up, own, and operate a
permanent clinic on Guam. There is currently no permanent prosthetist on
Guam. Population is about 180,000 with a high incidence of diabetes. Please

on Guam’s diabetic population. There is a government program in place
called the Medically Indigent Program, commonly referred to as MIP, which
provides funds for orthopedic and prosthetic appliances. (Please see:
http://www.dphss.guam.gov/sites/default/files/pdf/MIP%20Brochure.pdf for
more information on the Guam MIP program.) Guam is a U.S. territory and
uses the $USD, is under the U.S.P.S., and follows all U.S. laws. Rent
varies depending on the area, but anyplace is usually a 10-15 minute drive
away. Temperature is in the 80’s all year round with humidity in the 80-90%
range. In addition, there are patients from the outer islands (Chuuk, Yap,
Palau, Saipan, Tinian, Rota) that have orthotic and prosthetic needs.
Airfare to those islands is cheap if you would prefer to make visits. The
interested person should be ABC certified and have several years of
experience and want to help the people of Guam. Guam is full of many young,
helpful people who would be willing to learn to become a prosthetic
technician. Guam is very respectful to their elders so I feel you would
have no problem finding potential techs.****

About myself: I became an amputee last year after a car accident. I soon
learned of Guam’s need for a permanent prosthetist. I would be one of your
patients. Currently, there is a prosthetist who visits Guam about every two
months. If any patient needs any adjustments to their prosthetics or
braces, they must wait until the prosthetist visits Guam again. I can put
you in touch with the administrators of MIP. I would be willing to put you
in touch with reputable attorneys, help you find a place to rent/buy, and
help you set up shop initially. I am not looking to invest. I am simply
looking for someone willing to move to Guam and set up shop to service the
