Question for you’ll, with the ever changing stink with Medicare I’m wondering how others go about fitting MPC knees and feet to patients with the uncertainty within CMS? Meaning…no auth’s obviously required, so what happens if your pt is an excellent candidate for an MPC knee and you order it up. You fit and deliver it and then Medicare says wait, pre-payment audit….then weeks/days go by, the pt is still on it and it’s time to pay the vendor. You pay, then more time goes by and medicare denies. Yes we have ABN’s in place, but it’s not a cheap piece of componentry. What’s the consensus?
When do we decide collectively to not participate in Medicare? Kidding, but that’s almost where I’m at with this stereotypical bureaucratic government BS!
