Hello All,
I have a Medicare patient we are to fit a custom OA knee orthosis on. It had arrived from fabrication. We called the patient whom we discovered was in an MVA, sustaining a broken pelvis. My guess is he will be out of action for fitting of his OA KO anytime soon. What are our options on billing of this orthois? I’m aware that you cannot bill Medicare without delivery of product. On the other hand, we are encumbered with a custom product that we are libel to our fabricator for. Any thoughts? Are there any exceptions to the billing for a situation like this?
