The consensus was truly friction and the four distinct patches of blisters will go down as an anomaly. He has used a lubricant for a brief time to further heal the blisters. I had the opporunity to watch our patient donn his liner and he was placing it towards the anterior aspect of the distal end of his limb. This, of course, was putting his skin on stretch as he pulled the liner and his limb into the socket. I don’t think the brand of liner had any bearing on this episode; especially Medi, who does not have a distinct demarcated matrix. I did not pass on the hygiene techniques offered as we do not want to introduce too many variables to a new amputee. Problem solved, as we saw our man today and he is doing very well.
