Padding material

Jeff Boonstra

I am curious what people are using for padding the inside of prosthetic
sockets. Especially in the case where padding the inside of a laminated
socket and you are not padding between a flexible inner socket and a frame.
In the past any time we have added pads to the inside of a socket that would
be in contact with the liner or sock we would use a pelite or similar
material and cover it with ShearBan. I know there are other materials out
there with a low co-efficient of friction that may either have a sticky back
or something that can be glued in. Looking for something that would still
be able to grind and customize shape.

Thank for any help.
