Mr. Haines,
I would like to respond to your posting as if you are implying a negative
disposition toward our professional organizations. I understand our
disadvantages in the political and regulatory word. Based on not enough
practitioners and or money to deal with these problems you mention.
Your response “I would be happy to participate with a group of folks who
are willing to take the time to ask the tough questions of our officials and
government regulators and help find reasonable solutions to the terrible
injustices that are occurring within the orthotic and prosthetic
communities”.
After being blessed with practicing Prosthetics for over thirty years. Many
practitioners have given more then I. Out of all the persons I have met,
all of them are willing to take the time to ask the tough questions of our
officials and government regulators and help find reasonable solutions to
the terrible injustices that are occurring within the orthotic and prosthetic
communities. If I misunderstand your posting, then my comments are to all
the other persons not involved. All of us have overwhelming trials and
tribulations in our personal and professional lives.
But for all of the dedicated, life changing demands and thankless work; do
not ever underestimate the history of countless professional that have
given their lives to improve our profession, service to our communities and
most importantly to the patients that we serve.
For those of you that are reading this response. Do not sit back and
complain (as so many have in the past). It is your time! Stand up and help
continue and join all those practitioners before you. Get involved! Do more!
We are the fortunate few. I thank God for allowing me to do this work. Your
participation is needed and our patients will benefit from our endeavors.
