I am writing to let everyone know that PrimeCare sent a representativeto Nashville yesterday to survey the situation there in light of therecent flooding. He has reported back that Nashville is in full swingrecovery and that those of you attending the meeting or planning toattend the meeting will have no problems as a result of the flooding.
The meeting is being held in downtown Nashville, at the Nashville Convention Center, which suffered no damage. The hotel for the meeting is the Renaissance, which was also completely undamaged. The hotel that is featured in all the media is the Opryland Hotel, which is no where near the downtown area.
In his meetings with Nashville officials, the primary point theyconveyed was that the city is up and going and that they are all hopingthat tourist dollars will not be lost due to ongoing media coverage.
PrimeFare East, which takes place June 4th-5th, 2010 features 5educational tracks, including prosthetics, orthotics, pedorthics,administrative and hands on technical. This year will feature 2keynote speakers on Friday morning: Kathy Dodson, Senor Director ofGovernment Affairs for AOPA, who will present on Competitive Bidding,PECOS, red flag rules and health care reform. And, Bonnie Williams,RN, Director of Infection Control for St. Jude Children’s ResearchHospital, will discuss infection control both from the provider to thepatient and vice versa.
