Knee for a Knee disartic” patient

Ingvar Leskovar

Good morning everyone,

I have a patient in works that has a very short transtibial amputation. He
has his, for some reason, patella and, basically, tibial plateau in place.
Patient was previously fitted with a hip disartic knee, 4 bar. He wants
something that can be locked for ambulation now, unlocked to sit down.
He is not a major ambulator, just wants to get around safely. 270 Lbs.
Approx 20 degrees hip flexion contracture.
I’d kindly appreciate suggestions for a unit that we can use for his knee.
Obviously, locking feature and as short build height as possible are major
concerns. I’ll put him into expendable wall socket.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

I. Lesko, LPO
