OOPA is about to begin a new year. The issues ahead of our industry in
Oregon over the next 18 months are fundamental to our ability to continue
practicing. Our secretary will be mailing formal notices of the meeting scheduled on
March 15th. I encourage everybody to show for this meeting. We must come
together and decide how we are going to address the issues that impact us all.
We will figure out how to address OOPA funding. We will set our legislative
path for both licensure and warranty. We will need to create committees to
address OMAP issues. We will provide advise on how to use the recently passed
parity bill in our patients best interest. Finally, we will need to lay the
ground work for who is qualified and willing to lead and run OOPA into the
future.
Please if you have an interest in practicing in Oregon into the future show
up for this meeting. One Saturday afternoon is a small thing to give back to
your vocation. Orthotics and Prosthetics is what pays your bills help ensure
it can continue to do so. We need enough people to get a good exchange of
ideas. Our patients rely on us to ensure that their future is safeguarded. The
next generation of practitioners rely on us to protect the industry. If you
are a member of OOPA or wish to be one this is the one meeting that I really
need you present for.
