Partial Hand Prosthesis

Dear list,

I have a patient with a trans-metacarpal amputation with the pollex and
thenar eminence intact and functional. Truth be told the pollex
probably has undergone an increase in ROM post traumatic amputation of
the phalanges/metacarpals. This pt would like to have more than a
cosmetic “glove” with bendable fingers. Is anyone aware of a myo system
for a trans-metacarpal amputation that does not have the thumb included
in the system? Is there a body powered system of similar design
available? I remember some years back seeing a trans-metacarpal body
powered system for such an amputation, but I just cannot remember if it
included the thumb or not (it’s my Some-timers…I’m either too young
for Alzheimer’s, or cannot remember that I’m actually that old…). All
the searches I have done have resulted in systems that include the thumb.

Thanks for any help.
