The most honest response to date

Saunders, Jan CPO

The most honest response yet!
Mr. Baker,
I think you hit the nail on the head! I worked as a rep for — for about
12 years and what I heard most were complaints that the patients had
regarding the untimely manner in which their issues were addressed. This
included everything from RX not being followed either properly or at
all. I had 3 instances where I personally took a member of large O&P
facility to meet the physician and his staff in order to clear up such
problems. Two different times following that meeting the same
practitioner applied the opposite brace that the doctor personally
showed and explained that he wanted and why he wanted it. I do however
see Mr. Saunders point as well. I know first hand that the quality of
care and attention put towards our O&P facilities has changed from help
them to take their business. I have been on the phone when these calls
came from corporate. I am however one of the few reps that not only had
loyalty towards my accounts this included my O&P practices but also my
friends. I actually left the sales of said company and found privately
owned companies to help distribute for. I actually help start a stock
and bill program with a large O&P facility in order to help my accounts
and friends, this did both because the local O&P facility was on all of
the local plans where my large manufacture was on the same plans in a
different state which had no bearing in my state. Long story short the
Regional Mgr decided that he didn’t need a rep and tried to cut me out
of the picture so he didn’t have to pay me a percentage of the rather
large numbers I brought in for him. I guess Mr. Sanders would simply
like to know up front who he is dealing, because the reality be known
the corporate companies plan to own the majority of the business after
all they do have to answer to share holders. My advice: know who you are
dealing with, this includes the reps trust the same people you have
always trusted because they have proven themselves. When you make a
mistake suck it up and go on. There is enough business for everyone just
make sure you align yourself with people of the same caliber as
yourself.
Good luck to all and remember the famous word:
“Can’t we just all get along?”
