It is with deep sorrow ,regret and disbelief that I inform you of the
passing of Charles Benford CPO. Charlie was a graduate of FIU worked almost
10 years at Shriners Hospital in Tampa . Several years ago Charlie bought
The Orthotic and Prosthetic center of St. Petersburg. Charlie was the
current president of the Florida Chapter of Orthotists and Prosthetists and
was a strong supporter of licensure and advocacy for the O and P profession,
donating many thousands of dollars of his own money to support it’s causes.
Charlie was a very generous and caring person who had pride in his work and
everyone who knew him enjoyed his sense of humor and practical joking.
Charlie was engaged to be married in February .He was 40 years old.
He will be missed by all that knew him.
