There is another virus that just appeared recently that you need to be aware of. It is very well disguised, and one of the affects of the virus is that it will send out messages and put other peoples names on the “from” header in the email.
Here is the text of the messages that contain the virus:
W32/Klez.h@MM masquerades as a free immunity tool in at least one of the messages used:
Subject: Worm Klez.E Immunity
Body: Klez.E is the most common world-wide spreading worm.It’s very dangerous by corrupting your files. Because of its very smart stealth and anti-anti-virus technic,most common AV software can’t detect or clean it.We developed this free immunity tool to defeat the malicious virus. You only need to run this tool once,and then Klez will never come into your PC.
NOTE: Because this tool acts as a fake Klez to fool the real worm,some AV monitor maybe cry when you run it. If so,Ignore the warning,and select ‘continue’. If you have any question,please mail to me.
If you get a copy of an email containing that information, just DELETE it. Do not click on the blue link within the message that says “E-mail me”. If you delete the message you will be fine.
I was alarmed when I started to get messages sent to me stating that my computer was sending out messages with viruses attached, when I knew for certain that I was not infected or even sending messages to people. When I looked up the latest on Mcaffee.com, it was apparent that someone had got the Klez virus and it found my email address in their mailbox and was masquerading the messages as from me. Keep your eyes open, and be careful.
