Eric , I would recommend the cutting jig from Endolite and a hacksaw for
cutting carbon pylons. The jig fastens over the pylon and allows you to
make a 90 degree cut with perfection. It is easily applied with just an
allen wrench. I use this almost everyday and I can tell you that it
makes my cuts perfect. Try one , the product number is 941237 for 30mm
