Request for help

Joseph F. Carideo Jr.

Hello all,

I am eagrely awaiting the arrival of a young man from Kaluga, Russia. He

will be in Virginia on 7/2/99. He is visiting with the express purpose

of having arms fabricated for him. When he was 14 an electrical accident

left him a trans-humeral on one side and a shoulder disarticulation on

the opposite. At that time I was living in Clearwater, FL, the sister

city to Kaluga, and was asked to provide prostheses for him. He is now

19, obviously the limbs no longer fit. He is once again coming for new

ones.

My request is simple to ask for yet may be difficult to fulfill. When he

returns to Russia, he will need maintenance from time to time and I know

of no prosthetists in the area. Kaluga, is about 3 hours outside of

Moscow. If necessary this young man will travel for repairs.

If there is anyone out there close to the area where he lives, or anyone

who knows of someone close, please let me know so that we can arrange

for the two to meet.

Sincerely,

Joe Carideo, CP
