Dear Colleagues:
An individual with a transfemoral amputation is interested in snowboarding. I
would welcome any recommendations regarding technique and prosthetic issues.
This gentleman has a long residual limb, good strength, range and balance; he
has no medical or physical complications. He is currently wearing a SSS with
a shuttle lock, Mauch Jr. and Endolite multiaxial foot/ankle.
He will be involved in an established disabled ski clinic. However, the
instructors do not have snowboard experience. He is currently in out-patient
therapy through which he could “prepare”.
Thank you for your input.
