Posterior Shoulder Dislocation

A local orthopedic surgeon has done a posterior shoulder dislocation repair on

a hospital patient and wants a brace that externally rotates the shoulder

joint. I thought of an airplane splint.

Is this a valid orthosis for this purpose? Is there a better choice?
