The O&P Foundation for Education and Research announced two new funding opportunities to support prospective and current certified orthotic and/or prosthetic assistants and certified pedorthists to help advance their education, training, and professional development.
The scholarships are designed to reduce financial barriers and accelerate entry into the profession by supporting precertification education and training.
Applications will be accepted May 5-June 2.
Access to Care Workforce Development Scholarships
- O&P assistants: $5,000 scholarships are available to individuals pursuing certification as an orthotic assistant (COA), prosthetic assistant (CPA), or prosthetic-orthotic assistant (CPOA) through one of the pathways approved by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC). Funding may be used for coursework, educational expenses, and/or stipends for clinical hour completion.
- Pedorthists: $5,000 scholarships are available to individuals pursuing certification as a pedorthist (CPed) through ABC. Funding supports precertification education and training through ABC-approved pedorthic programs.
