The Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF) returned to Greenville, South Carolina, for a First Swim adaptive clinic for those with physical or mobility challenges. Adults and children were in the water working with First Swim Director Mabio Costa and OPAF’s newest First Swim instructor, Rob Hendry.

Participants worked on water basics such as floating and feeling comfortable in and around the pool. Therapists from Shriners Hospitals for Children — Greenville teamed up with the participants.
This was the second year for the First Swim Clinic with Shriners Hospitals and OPAF hopes it will become an annual event, said Robin Burton, OPAF executive director.
The event was sponsored by Shriners Hospitals for Children, Sure Step, CP Now Foundation, and Greenville Healthcare System’s Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Center.
