The OPAF board of directors held a special vote to elect two new board members, Mabio Costa and Charissa “Chris” Doerger, CP, PT, simultaneously appointing them to executive positions within the organization. The board appointed Costa as president-elect and Doerger as vice president-elect due to their experience and commitment to OPAF, as well as to begin the transition of leadership into OPAF’s next era.
“I have known Mabio and Chris for many years and have worked closely with them through OPAF for some time. Many of you have been able to experience Mabio’s and Chris’ instruction during the [First] Clinics over the past decade. What you may not know is how vital they have both been behind the scenes over the years. Mabio and Chris will help bring in the next chapter of goals and continue to strengthen OPAF’s position as the philanthropic arm of the O&P profession.”
To apply to serve on the OPAF board, email a resumé and letter of intent to Young by September 1. Board positions are two-year terms beginning December 1, and members are required to attend at least one in-person or virtual meeting annually.
