Orpyx Medical Technologies, Calgary, Alberta, announced the close of a $7.6M Series A investment round. The investment brings Orpyx’s total funding since inception of the company in 2012 to $18.5M. The funding will help the company expand its North American commercialization efforts and broaden and accelerate technology development of its sensory insole that has telemedicine capabilities to provide feedback to patients and healthcare providers to help prevent diabetic foot and other neuropathy-related ulcers. Cory Paddock, cofounder and managing director of Paddock Capital, which led the investment round, will join the board of directors.
