Össur will elect a board of directors during its annual general meeting on Friday, March 10.
Board of directors candidates include:
- Gudbjörg Edda Eggertsdóttir has been a member of the board of directors since 2013 and is an independent member of the board. Her previous positions include president and executive vice president of strategic projects of Actavis in Iceland, a global integrated specialty pharmaceutical company.
- Alberto Esquenazi, MD, has been a member of the board of directors since 2021 and is an independent member of the board. He serves as the John Otto Haas chair of the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at MossRehab and is the chief medical officer as well as director of the gait and motion analysis laboratory and clinical director of the Regional Amputee Center.
- Svafa Grönfeldt, PhD, is vice chairman of the directors and a member of the board of directors since 2008. She is a professor of practice at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a founding member of MIT’s newest innovation accelerator DesignX focused on developing new ventures created at MIT. Grönfeldt is the cofounder of The MET fund, which provides support to qualified ventures that have completed the MITdesignX program. She is considered a dependent member of the board due to her long tenure on the board.
- Niels Jacobsen is chairman of the board of directors and a member of the board of directors since 2005. He is CEO of William Demant Invest and was president and CEO of Demant (formerly William Demant Holding).
- Arne Boye Nielsen has been a member of the board of directors since 2009. He has spent his career with Demant in various and expanding roles worldwide. He is a dependent member of the board as he represents the interest of Össur’s controlling shareholder, William Demant Invest.
