In February, Össur established a new parent organization to be named Embla Medical. The proposal was officially approved during the company’s annual general meeting on March 13.
Allocation of responsibilities within the board also occurred during the annual meeting. Niels Jacobsen was re-elected as chairman of the board. Svafa Grönfeldt, PhD, was re-elected as vice chairman; Arne Boye Nielsen, Alberto Esquenazi, MD, and Caroline Vagner Rosenstand were appointed to the audit committee. Tina Abild Olesen was elected to serve on the board. Terms are one year and no alternate directors will be elected.
Other action during the annual general meeting included the compensation determination for the board for 2024 (in dollars):
- Chairman of the board: $111,000
- Vice chairman: $74,000
- Board member: $37,000
- Chairman of the audit committee: $14,500
- Audit committee member: $7,250
The name change to Embla Medical will not affect customers doing business with its subsidiaries. Embla Medical will be the parent to product brands Össur, College Park, and Fior & Gentz in addition to the portfolio of patient care facilities worldwide.
