Össur, Reykjavik, Iceland, has appointed Kim De Roy, CPO, PT, to the role of executive vice president of research and development; he will be a member of Össur’s executive management. De Roy, who has a transtibial amputation, holds master’s degrees from the University of Leaven, Belgium, in rehabilitation sciences and physiotherapy and education. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in O&P.
De Roy joined Össur in 2002 and spent five years in research and development working on projects in prosthetics, bracing, and supports. He has held several leadership positions in sales, marketing, and education in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The former executive vice president of research and development, Thorvaldur Ingvarsson, MD, has left leave Össur after leading the research and development function for more than five years. Ingvarsson will continue to support Össur research and development as a consultant.
