The Vienna, Austria, Chamber of Commerce awarded Ottobock, Duderstadt, Germany, first place as the most innovative company in the Mercur Innovation Award. Ottobock’s research and development received the prize in the health category for the new Kenevo microprocessor prosthetic knee. The company’s Austrian development team launched the new version of the Kenevo in 2021.
With the award, from 95 submissions, Ottobock is simultaneously nominated for the State Prize for Innovation, which will be given this fall.
Harald Sima, head of development, and Rainer Locher, project manager, accepted the award.
“We are really happy about this award,” said Sima. “It is a signal to the team that we are making an important contribution not only to our users but also to Vienna as a business location.”
