In the July issue, an article highlights whether O&P is ready for eco-friendly fabrication. The profession hasn’t shown a strong interest in making that change yet, but there’s hope, according to the article. Our social media poll asked if our readers think O&P is ready to adopt eco-friendly practices. 32 percent said the industry has a loooong way to go; 26 percent said no, we are not ready; 24 percent we’re getting there, and 18 percent of our followers said O&P is ready to embrace eco-friendly practices.
We recently asked our followers about team meetings in the work setting, the first of a two-part question. While meetings can be known as one of the most controversial topics in the workplace, with some people definitely against them, others believe they are necessary for successful teams to work together. Last week we asked what the pros were when it comes to meetings.
Of those who responded, 81 percent said meeting are necessary because it helps the team stay focused and aligned on workplace issues; 19 percent said meetings are good because they are an avenue to help problem-solve.
Lask week, of those who responded to part two of our question about the cons of team meetings, 38 percent said meetings are a waste of time; 38 percent said there is often little to no follow-up; 17 percent said team meetings are unnecessary; and 7 percent said there was no reason for them to even be included in the meeting. That definitely goes back to a waste of time.
Our latest poll focuses on the value and popularity of public libraries. Who doesn’t love the hushed spaces in a library to sit and read or study? Our question: Why are public libraries still so important in local communities today? So far, our followers say libraries are a great place to access resources.
