Our most recent polls have focused on one of the most valuable assets an O&P company has—its employees. And it is seemingly safe to say that employee retention and engagement starts at the leadership level. In the second of three parts, we asked what can employers do to show that they appreciate their employees besides offering raises or bonuses?
Of those who responded, 49 percent said offering development perks was valuable; 32 percent said employers could hold worker appreciation days; 11 percent said they appreciate receiving personal gifts or gestures, and eight percent said they like when their company recognizes an employee’s birthday or holds other special events at the office.
For the final poll question we focused on the employee. We asked them what is it about their job that makes them stay.
Of those who responded, 48 percent said they stay because they feel appreciated and valued; 20 percent said they stay at their current jobs because they are paid well; another 20 percent said they stay because of good company values, and 12 percent stay because they like the challenges their job brings.
And since Labor Day weekend and the official end of summer is behind us, and pumpkin spice lattes are now on the menu, our latest poll focuses on what else but—fall!
Our question—What is your favorite thing about this time of year—is up and in full swing.
