Since it is paramount to have understandable health information to help prevent health problems and better manage health problems as they arise, we asked our followers, “How would better health literary help your patients?”
Of those who responded, 54 percent said it would help them manage a chronic condition and 46 percent said it would expand patients’ use of preventive care. On Twitter, it was unanimous: Better health literacy would help patients manage a chronic condition. We offered two other suggestions—reducing emergency visits and lowering avoidable and costly hospital stays—but the other options were clearly preferred.
Our poll last week asked, “What ways work best for you when it comes to gearing up for a new week?” 52 percent said they rest and recharge in the comfort of their own home; 28 percent said they like to do something active outdoors; 17 percent said they meal prep, and three percent said the best way for them to plan for a new week is to make a to-do list. Those all sound like good ideas to start on the right foot.
This week we decided to focus on artificial intelligence (AI)—the popular and not-so-popular way to make machines act more like human beings. We know it is certainly being used in the healthcare field. Our question, “What’s your opinion on AI as it relates to the medical field?” is up and in full swing. So far, our voters are saying that AI definitely has potential. Tell us what you think. We’d love to hear from you.
