Hard to imagine we’ve already moved into the middle days of June, and Memorial Day weekend is now behind us. Our poll question asked what our followers on LinkedIn enjoy doing when it comes to celebrating a holiday known typically as a day of remembrance for those who have died in service for our country. Of those who responded, 67 percent said they were planning to spend the holiday resting and relaxing; 20 percent were planning a picnic or a barbeque with family and friends. Seven percent said they were going camping, and the other seven percent were going to honor those who have served in our nation’s military. (FYI, we round our results, so sometimes they’re just over or under 100 percent.)
May and June are common months for college graduations. Of those who responded to our question asking how they paid for their college education, 53 percent said they used loans to pay for their education; 26 percent said they paid for their own education. (That includes this writer. I lived at home and worked nights and weekends at JCPenney to pay 100 percent of my college education. My mother would pay for my books every other semester, which helped tremendously!) Fifteen percent said they used grants and scholarships to pay for their education, and six percent said they used other means to pay for college.
The June issue is out and this month’s magazine highlights upper-limb prosthetic devices.
Our most recent poll focused on the challenges of fitting such devices. Of those who responded to our question, What are your biggest challenges when it comes to fitting an upper-limb device for your patients, 60 percent said the weight of the device; 32 percent said it doesn’t meet the needs of the patient; and the rest were split between fatigue and reduced mobility, and irritation and skin issues as the biggest challenges to overcome.
Since Father’s Day is just a few days away, we decided to ask what our followers are doing to remember dear old dad.
Our question is up and in full swing: “What will you be doing with your dad?” So far, our voters are saying they will be doing some grilling of dad’s favorites. Tell us what you think. We’d love to hear from you.
