With time management playing a big role in how our professional day evolves, we thought it was a great question to start the first weekly poll of the year.

Our question was “What’s your preferred method for managing your time at work?” Of those who responded, 62 percent said they make to-do lists; 24 percent said they stick to a daily schedule; 11 percent said this year they plan to make more of an effort to say no and the rest had other plans.

“A goal without a plan is simply a wish,” said one follower. “It’s never about remembering everything, it’s about a good to-do list that gets it all done.”

Another said, “How do we check off ‘all of the above?’”

Everyone who responded on X (formerly known as Twitter) said they make to-do lists.

The January issue of the magazine includes a feature about the needs of women who wear prostheses. But no single group makes identical choices, so every patient’s unique personality needs to be considered too.

“What are some of the biggest challenges your patients face when trying to find the right fit for their device?” we asked our social media followers. Of those who responded, 38 percent said irritation and skin issues; 25 percent said instability and fear of falling; 19 percent said their patient’s biggest issue was fatigue and reduced mobility; and 19 percent said something else, including one follower who said, “Limb volume fluctuations and how to properly manage them.”

The next poll continued to highlight our January issue, focusing on an article about O&P patients with diabetes. Our question was, “What are some of the biggest challenges clinicians face when caring for this population?” Sixty-seven percent said the challenges were insurance coverage for medicine and supplies; 13 percent said high expenses for treatment;13 percent said a patient’s lack of pre-diabetes prevention was a big challenge; and 8 percent said medication adherence.

Last week, we decided to mix things up a little and ask something fun. Our question “If you could come back as a person, place, or thing, what would it be?”

69 percent said a person; 23 percent said a thing; and 8 percent said something else. No one wanted to come back as a place, though. One follower wasn’t sure what we were asking. “Come back from where?” he asked. “The bar? A vacation? McDonald’s? The gym?” Guess he’s got a point!

It was an even split on X, with half saying they’d come back as a person, and the other half said they’d come back as a thing.

And this week, with the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers playing in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday in Las Vegas, we’re asking, “Who will you be rooting for?” is up and full swing. So far, our voters are cheering for the Chiefs to win and make it back-to-back Super Bowl wins. Tell us what you think. We’d love to hear from you.
