Our most recent poll question centered on June 21, which most everyone knows marks the longest day of the summer and the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere. Our question was “What’s your favorite thing about summer?” Of those who responded 48 percent said they love all the extra daylight; 6 percent said all the fresh fruits and veggies and the warmer days and nights and 39 percent said all of the above.
On Twitter, our followers apparently love their fruits and vegetables, 42.9 percent said that was their favorite thing about summer; 28.6 percent said they love all the extra daylight; 14.3 percent they enjoy the warmer days and nights and 14.3 percent said all of the above.
Last week’s poll question focused on the Fourth of July holiday. While Independence Day is a federal holiday commemorating the Declaration of Independence, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America, most everyone associates the Fourth of July as a fun holiday marked by fireworks, barbecues, and parades. Our question was “What’s your favorite thing about the holiday?”
Of those who responded, 73 percent said they were planning to go on a picnic or to a BBQ; 19 percent said watch fireworks; 8 percent said travel and no one was planning to go to a parade or a sporting event.
On Twitter, it was unanimous, picnics and barbecues were the best way to spend the day.
And since the Fourth of July holiday is coming to an end and many people have gone back to work or soon be will, we decided to keep it light and focus this week’s question on a favorite work beverage.
Our question “What’s your favorite thing to drink while you’re on the clock?” is up and in full swing. Tell us what you think. We’d love to hear from you.
