Team-building events and office outings are often considered collective terms for various types of activities that can be used to enhance the workplace environment. In the final part of this two-part question, we asked our social media followers how often their facilities engage in some type of team-building event or office outing?
Of those who responded, 44 percent said whenever appropriate; 33 percent said they’ve never held an event; 17 percent said they hold some type of office outing at least quarterly; and six percent they hold team-building events on a monthly basis.
EDGE Twitter followers agreed unanimously that they hold office outings whenever it is appropriate.
Last week our poll focused on the importance of employee retention and recognition.
One of the most valuable assets an O&P company has is its employees. And it is seemingly safe to say that employee retention and engagement starts at the leadership level. In the first of three parts, we asked what do you do keep your employees happy and productive? Of those who responded, 44 percent said listening to feedback and following through on it is important; 44 percent also chose investing in employee growth opportunities; six percent each chose creating an inclusive culture and delving into exit interviews was a good technique.
EDGE Twitter followers agreed unanimously that making an inclusive culture was most important.
Our question for part two is up and in full swing: What can employers do to show that they appreciate their employees besides offering raises or bonuses?
