Forty-five percent of those who responded to the poll about waiting said the most important thing you can do for your patients when there are delays at your facility is to recognize that your patient’s time is valuable. Twenty-six percent said it’s important to tell patients how long the delay will be and to apologize. Three percent said offering to change their appointment is important.
When it comes to watching the Paralympics, 71 percent of those who responded said they plan to watch swimming and track and field. Ten percent will be watching wheelchair basketball and fencing. Six percent said they’ll be watching table tennis and weight lifting, and 13 percent of those who responded won’t be watching any of the Paralympics.
Speaking of responses, our latest poll—the advantages of working for independent O&P facilities, a manufacturer, or a larger regional patient care facility—is up and in full swing. Our question: What are the advantages of staying as a smaller, independent O&P facility?
