Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates (POA) of Hawaii is marking five years of providing pediatric O&P care in Maui. Based on Oahu, POA clinicians travel to Maui multiple times per month to hold pediatric orthotic and AFO tuning clinics, improving access to care and reducing the financial and logistical burden of traveling to Oahu.
POA has developed its own AFO line to address pediatric conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and low-muscle tone. The Keiki AFOs are only available at POA and were developed over decades of clinical experience and in collaboration with patients, parents, therapists, and physicians.
“Our mission has always been to provide customized, compassionate orthotic and prosthetic care, no matter where families are located,” Cameron Lehrer, CPO, FAAOP, owner and clinical director, told Maui News. “Reaching this five-year milestone in Maui is a testament to the trust and relationships we’ve built, and we are committed to continuing to serve the community for years to come.”
