The American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and the Center for Orthotic and Prosthetic Learning and Outcomes/Evidence-Based Practice (COPL) are requesting pilot grant proposals in O&P research. One-time awards ranging between $5,000 and $30,000 will be granted for projects. The award is intended to fund original pilot studies that will support full-scale research projects and encourage new knowledge generation from young investigators. The deadline for all proposals is April 30.
Studies must be completed within one year from the start date, which will be set once institutional review board approval is received, and initial payment is made by AOPA.
AOPA and the COPL board will give preference to grants that address evidence-based clinical application in O&P, and applications involving patient-engaged, participatory research are encouraged.
