The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that the 2 percent payment adjustment (sequestration) for Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) claims will be suspended through March 31.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, passed in March 2020, suspended the payment adjustment applied to all Medicare FFS claims from May through December 2020. The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, signed into law on December 27, 2020, extended the suspension period through March.
