A study published in the Journal of Science Translational Medicine found that use of a soft suit exoskeleton system facilitated normal walking ability for ambulatory patients following a stroke. The paper examined the prototype Restore System, a wearable soft suit exoskeleton (exosuit) created by the Wyss Institute that is now moving toward commercialization by ReWalk Robotics.
