Gene Paul Meyers, CP, passed away on August 30. The New Orleans, Louisiana, native made his home in Arabi, Louisiana, until the time of Hurricane Katrina. He then moved to Florida, where his sister, Jane, resided. According to an obituary published in The Times-Picayune newspaper, Meyers had a passion for bass fishing. He held a master’s degree from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana, and served as a prosthetist in New Orleans at Lambert’s Orthotics & Prosthetics/Patient Aids and what was then J.E. Hanger.
He was described as a “kind, loving brother and friend to all who loved him.”
He leaves his daughter, Carli Meyers; brothers, John, Wayne, and Terry Meyers; sister, Jane Meyers Place, and his dogs, Voodoo and Boudreaux.
According to the Times-Picayune, Meyers requested a private memorial service in New Orleans, which will be held at a later date.
