The National Commission on Orthotic & Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) is now accepting applications for the 2010 Larry Lange Travel Fellowship Award. The $2,000 award will recognize the outstanding practice/education of a current or recent graduate of an NCOPE O&P residency program. The award, which is to be used for travel and meeting registration fees, “is designed to provide an opportunity for the selected candidate to further enrich his or her education and development” as a professional O&P practitioner, according to NCOPE.
The award was established in 2007 to honor the memory of Larry Lange, CPO, FAAOP. Lange dedicated more than 27 years to the O&P profession and to the patients he served. He believed in furthering one’s education, and for 22 years volunteered as an examiner for the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) clinical patient management exam.
The application deadline is Tuesday, June 1, 2010. To download the application, click here.
