The Amputee Coalition has announced a partnership with CaringBridge®. CaringBridge provides free websites that connect people experiencing a significant health challenge to family and friends. Powered by donations, CaringBridge websites offer a personal and private space to communicate and show support.
“Partnering with CaringBridge adds an important benefit to our support system,” said Kendra Calhoun, president and CEO of the Amputee Coalition. “We strive to provide the best resources and information for the two million Americans who live with limb loss, and CaringBridge aligns perfectly with that mission. People with limb loss often undergo multiple surgeries and frequently spend prolonged periods of time in the hospital. CaringBridge will provide them with a communications tool for their friends and families.”
Founded in 1997, more than 266,000 CaringBridge websites have been created, generating more than half-a-million daily visits. The CaringBridge community includes authors, visitors, and donors in all 50 states and more than 225 countries and territories.
“CaringBridge centralizes communication and connects a patient’s entire support community,” said Sona Mehring, founder and executive director of CaringBridge. “This creates a network of support for everyone involved, allowing the patient, caregivers, family, and friends to receive strength and support through the experience.”
