ANNOUNCE: Join your colleagues on Capitol Hill April 11-12

Tina Moran

Dear O&P Professional:

We have so many things to fight for this year! Inclusion in the “essential benefits” package for healthcare reform–defeating serious Medicaid cuts–pushing for the O&P Medicare Improvements Act to improve payment fairness and stem abuse of the Medicare system–supporting parity efforts at the state and federal level, fighting O&P inclusion in a 2.3 percent device tax — to name a few.

If we thought last year’s situation was serious, this year’s is even more critical. Protect your business and help ensure that patients can continue to obtain excellent O&P care by joining us on April 11-12, 2011 at AOPA’s Annual Policy Forum. Not only will you receive up to the minute updates on issues that affect your business as well as education on how to deal with state issues like Medicaid cuts, you will also help carry the O&P message to Capitol Hill though in-person visits with your Congressional members and staff. AOPA works year-round to advance O&P positions, but no one catches the Congressional eye like a constituent!

This year’s Policy Forum will be held at the L’Enfant Plaza Hotel, 480 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, DC 20024. A five minute Metro subway ride will take you to the Capitol, Senate and House office buildings and you’ll be within walking distance of the many outstanding (and free) Smithsonian museums. Take advantage of spring in the nation’s capitol to see the sights and protect your field. We hope to see you in April!

The tentative schedule for the Policy Forum is as follows:
Monday, April 11
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Registration Open
1:00 – 5:00 PM Policy Forum General Sessions
5:30 PM Congressional Fundraiser/Reception
