Your right it is a black mark on our profession….how about this one we in Florida have a company who does the same thing, but they add a twist. They go into poor neighborhood where they see a number of older poor people playing cards or hanging outside and offer them $ 25.00 for each name and address of patients who are amputees, then find the patient and give them $ 100.00 to get a script. The problem is when the authorities are contacted they want patients name, they want to see the patients chart (which you don’t have access to) before they do anything. I have been there with the authorities, giving them name,date,type of controlled appliance ect… it was nothing less them frustrating to a point of me saying to myself “if they don’t care I am not going to waste my time and energy again”
