Alt-Bionics, a Texas-based bionic technology company, was issued a non-provisional patent for its prosthetic hand. Following a two-year effort, the patent marks a milestone in the company’s mission to enhance accessibility and functionality in prosthetic and robotic devices, according to CEO Ryan Saavedra.
The newly issued patent, US Patent US11771571B2, centers around the device’s modularity, with a design that reduces repair time to 60 seconds and has a price point of around $5,000.
“I am incredibly proud of our chief technology officer, Samuel Woolfolk, and our chief design engineer, Jackson Heinz, for their relentless commitment to developing novel and advanced mechanical solutions. Their dedication has been instrumental in achieving this patent,” Saavedra said.
