Amoena, Raubling, Germany, the originator of the silicone breast prosthesis, marked its 45th year in business.

“We take our role as the first maker of these products seriously,” said Kevin Ostwald, Amoena USA president. “It’s not just that we made the first one, it’s that our engineers continue to make prostheses better, more comfortable, and more functional. We have to, because medical advances mean that surgery methods continually change, and women’s needs evolve with them.”
The company’s newest post-mastectomy breast form, Adapt Air, is an adjustable prosthesis with a patent-pending integrated air chamber.
