Amparo, a manufacturer of direct-fit prosthetic sockets, acquired Adapttech, a producer of smart prosthetic technology, effective April 2.
The merger of Amparo’s direct-fit sockets and Adapttech’s data-driven solutions will create a more holistic approach to prosthetic care, leading to improved comfort, function, and overall quality of life, according to the company.
Amparo has also reorganized its management team. Wesley Teerlink, previously CEO, has transitioned to the role of chief technology officer, where he will focus on driving innovation and product development. Frederico Carpinteiro, formerly CEO of Adapttech, has been appointed as the new CEO of Amparo. Stuart Mead will continue to serve as chairman of the board, and Diogo Lopes has been appointed as chief marketing officer.
