The bebionic v2 hand is now available in medium and large sizes, and includes major improvements to speed, accuracy, grip, and durability, in addition to new grip patterns and software features.
Combining ease of control with design elegance, the bebionic hand was created with durability, performance, and simplicity firmly in mind. The naturally compliant fingers and thumb provide a secure platform to perform everyday tasks using common grip patterns.
New features:
- Upgraded individual motors: Operating speed is about twice as fast.
- Choice of 14 grip patterns/hand positions: Ten grip patterns are available by direct selection; four more can be substituted wirelessly using bebalance programming software. New grips include precision grip, pinch grip, mouse grip to operate a computer mouse, and trigger grip to operate a trigger-activated device such as a hairdryer.
- Integrated RF module: Radio-frequency (RF) board incorporated within the hand improves the convenience of wireless programming.
- Adjustable thumb: Practitioners can now optimize the thumb position in two planes for each grip pattern.
- A wider thumb profile: Increases the gripping surface.
- Soft finger pads: Enhances the gripping abilities of each digit.
- Redesigned finger links: Improves durability.
- Optional audible buzzer: Signal changes between grip patterns are enabled using bebalance programming software.
- New high-capacity 2200mAh split-cell internal batteries: For easier fabrication; now also supplied with a resettable protection circuit.
- Updated bebalance programming software: For easier custom configuration.
Cosmesis for the bebionic hand is completed with our production silicone glove. Available in 19 skin shades, the gloves include our unique True Finishâ„¢ micro pigmentation for additional depth and realism.
A custom silicone glove is now also available for bebionic hands. Each glove is sculpted by hand to meet each user’s requirements, resulting in a realistic appearance and feel. Spectromatch&trade, our unique color-matching system, electronically measures skin tone to ensure a near-perfect match to individual skin shades and is a far superior color-matching process than traditional swatches.
Unlike many similar products, our fabrication technique involves coloring the silicone material itself prior to sculpting, as opposed to surface painting. This process allows the layering of different shades of silicone to give a natural translucent finish, similar to human skin. Skin pigmentation, freckles, veins, hair, and even tattoos can be incorporated to ensure an authentic finish.
Packages will be available to upgrade first generation bebionic hands to the new specification, complete with a new one-year warranty.
