The Medical Review staff of CGS, the Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor for Jurisdiction B and Jurisdiction C, will be conducting a complex post-pay service-specific medical review of Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System AFO codes L-1902, L-1906, L-1971, L-4396, and L-4397.
CGS said the review is being conducted because data analysis revealed that Jurisdiction B’s allowed dollars for the codes were significantly above expected amounts, and. the orthotics policy group ranked first in total CERT errors.
