CGS, the Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor (DME MAC) for Jurisdiction B and C, is hosting a webinar on April 18 to review the prior authorization process for orthosis codes L-0648, L-0650, L-1832, L-1833, and L-1851. The webinar will be held at 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET and will include review of the detailed information on written orders prior to delivery and face-to-face encounters, and provide resources available on the CGS website.
Prior authorization for the added codes will be implemented in three phases. Phase 1 includes New York, Illinois, Florida, and California and begins on April 13. Phase 2 adds Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Arizona, and Washington and begins on July 12. Phase 3 includes all remaining states and territories and begins on October 10.
