Choice Orthotics & Prosthetics, Knoxville, Tennessee, hosted an Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF) First Stride Training and Clinic in Knoxville on March 3. First Stride offers therapists and allied healthcare professionals classroom and hands-on education in gait training for individuals with lower-limb amputations. More than 30 healthcare professionals attended, led by First Stride instructor Jim Scharf, PTA. Sixteen people with amputations attended the afternoon session for a series of exercises, tips, and techniques for improving their stance and walking.
